Tony joined Bentleys in January 2015 and provides clients with legal and practical advice concerning marine casualties, salvage, collisions, charterparty disputes and cargo claims. He carries out marine casualty investigations, drawing on his experience as a mariner and a lawyer.

He obtained distinctions in both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course. He trained at a large regional firm and qualified as a solicitor in September 2013.

Tony was a Naval Officer for over eight years, during which time he served as Officer of the Watch in a variety of vessels including an aircraft carrier and a mine hunting ship. He trained in frigates, an ice patrol ship and a fishery protection vessel keeping navigation watches and conducting seamanship evolutions. Tony has experience of maritime security, as he was involved in counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden. He also has knowledge of cyber security onboard ships, having been the IT security officer in an aircraft carrier.

He is member of the Nautical Institute.
